No this is not a paid advertisement for Boeing (plus day 1 in Bangkok)

I flew the new Boeing Dreamliner to Tokyo.  Planes don't impress me. I view them as sleep capsules (I get my best sleep on planes...go figure) but oh my gosh this Boeing dreamliner was amazing.

I had a 4 hour layover in Tokyo where I almost fell asleep standing up and really had no idea what day or time it was.

Then, it was onto Bangkok. Flight was uneventful. I landed, took a car to the hotel, checked in and the tried to get into my room for 30 minutes only to realize I was trying to get into the wrong room. Typical.

Today I went to the Grand Palace--Wat Phra Kae--Wat Pho and the Jim Thompson House. My biggest accomplishment: learning how to navigate the train system. It was a Christmas miracle.

Then...my Emma arrived. We had a great dinner at El Gaucho (we come to Bangkok and eat at an Argentine steak house). Thai food tomorrow.....

There is a Dean and Deluca in my hotel. I'm not roughing it...

Ps: Pictures to follow once I can figure out how to upload them.
